Smile  THE END OF THE FIRST GRADING TERM IN SEPTEMBER 10.  I HAVE HANDED OUT LISTS TO EVERYONE WHO HAS MISSING ASSIGNMENTS. THESE MUST BE TURNED IN BY SEPTEMBER 9 IN ORDER TO RECEIVE CREDIT.

We are having a great week.  This week we are starting our Voyager Reading program.  We will do a lesson each day and the students will be reading current day stories that are interesting and will help prepare them for the "Real World".

All students will have a vocabulary test this Friday, August 20, 2010.  This will a five word test and all students will have a copy of their words on Wednesday to study for the test.

 We are also working on the author's purpose for writing.

This week are writing our first paper.  We are working hard and will complete this assignment in class.  We will be having a vocabulary test on Friday and the words are listed below:

This week we will be working on Workplace documents.  There will be a vocabulary test this Friday.  We are fast approaching the end of the first grading period. 

 

8/30/10  Students have homework tonight.  They are to copy the typed paper we did in class and copy it in their best handwriting.  This is due tomorrow.  

8/31/10  We will be taking a benchmark test today and will being progress monitoring on their reading program.  I am hoping to see improvement already this year.  I intend for all my students to make progress this year in this area.

9/1/10  We will be doing a graphic organizer for a phone message.  This is an important workplace document and the students will complete one in class.

9/2/10  We will continue to work on progress monitoring and reveiw for the vocabulary test on Friday.

 September 7, 2010

This week we will be working on Voyager lessons and doing an etymology chart.  The students will receive a vocabulary grade for this chart.  The end of the grading period is this Friday.  All students need to complete missing assignments by Thursday of this week.

There will be no vocabulary test due to the short week.  Please encourage your students to work hard and do their class work and homework .
